Driving impact through music – the latest from AudioActive

AudioActive continues to deliver a groundbreaking programme of back-to-back events, here’s the latest!

Since our latest coverage for Independent Venue Week, and October ’25’s collaboration with the newly opened Waterbear Music Bar, Rankd continues to spotlight AudioActives ongoing contribution to the world of emerging talent across Brighton, Worthing, Crawley and beyond, platforming artists at the latest BARCO Bash, celebrating the latest EMERGE cohort, and continuing to deliver an unstoppable programme of free music-making projects from ‘Room to Rant’ to Music Production workshops hosted across the week. Not only does this embed creativity into the weekly routines of young, aspiring artists, but offer an opportunity for expression, performance and confidence-boosting through events that extend learning and development straight to the centre-stage.

After a high-octane few months, we’re reflecting on a handful of events that have defined AudioActive’s inspirational pledge to keep music accessible and collaborative. With term ending and sessions quieting down during the summer period, Beats and Bars will continue throughout August, EMERGE artists Xailia and Dizlyric will take the stage at Eastbourne’s Princes Park for Southbound Fest on August 23rd, and Crawley Bandstand will see an AudioActive takeover on August 18th – featuring Rankd favourite Imani Ruiz, who featured on our monthly Slack City radio slot back on July 09 with her single ‘4 Leaf Clover’. It’s clear to see, this isn’t a summer ‘holiday’ for AudioActive, but the time to get artists up on stage and infront of an audience!

Aside from a groundbreaking selection of upcoming events, AudioActive are venturing into an exciting series of collaborations and crossovers across the city. June 26th saw their debut event under a new partnership with Toddla T’s ‘Steeze Factory’, bringing together over 25 MC’s, rappers and artists from across the South Coast to one of Brighton’s newest seafront haunts ‘Quarters‘. Here, Lilly Wolfe, Budd Beginnings, Asiedu and many more were invited to perform with established artists from the UK’s undersground scenes – including grime DJ pioneer Mak 10. Newly appointed as CEO, Michelle Hunter said:

‘“Creating platforms where real grassroots artists can perform alongside some of the pioneers of the industry just makes sense. AudioActive is deeply committed to supporting the sound of the next generation, and Bigger Than We is a platform that represents exactly that. Our growing network with Waterbear, Slambarz & Steeze is all part of keeping the flow of artists, opportunities and culture moving across the UK. Big thank you to Quarters for supporting this event!”

Shortly after, AudioActive hosted ‘Truth to Power‘, showcasing the voices of young people directly in front of local leaders, decision-makers and community stakeholders, driving impact through open dialogue and honest conversation. Driving positive change through a Q&A, the event also invited performances from Diz Lyric, LUAN, JNTHXN, Archie Kai, Kidda, Venus Elektra, WDZY and Dan Anderson, raising awareness of issues affecting the daily lives of young people, and sharing concerns and emotion through the medium of music. Back to the topic of collaborations, AudioActives EMERGE cohort returned with their annual showcase in collaboration with the London Philharmonic Orchestra back on July 10th – the perfect way to wrap-up mentoring, masterclasses, industry insight, performance opportunities and dedicated artistic development for this years participants.
