Bathe in the ambient retreat of Songe's debut album

Phoebe and Ëlle’s partnership has flourished into a audio utopia since their debut demo EP ‘Songe.Demo’ back in 2023, with delicacy and care making the debut album ‘Daughters’ a much anticipated escape from city life.

With gliding textures lovingly threaded together on a string of synthesisers, theremins, harps and keys – Songe invite listeners to close their eyes, and surround their tastebuds with ambient sensation. With the harsh distortion of ‘Heol’ juxtaposed with the comforting birdsong of ‘Warmer, Hotter’, first-time ambient listeners are given a fully fledged insight into the volatile nature of the genre – entrancing you on a 42 minute journey across both ends of the ambient spectrum.

Showcasing their efforts in the cradling arms of Pink Moon back on 30/11, surrounded by a low-lit and mystical aura, the duo captivated a seated audience with their complex yet tender instrumentation. With every element carefully peppered into a rich mix of electronic and acoustic experimentation, the soundscapes of Songe flutter around the room and dance playfully into the ears of Pink Moon’s punters, whisking them away to a tranquil state of peace and tranquillity – grounded.

Ëlle’s ethereal vocals float above sometimes bit crushed, gritty instrumentation, showcasing the transcendent, genre-shifting abilities of the Brighton duo. However, there’s no denying that these are sounds that transcend description – they need to be felt, first hand.
