Brighton six-piece Flip Top Head have released ‘Porcelain Plugs’, the latest in a run of singles following ‘What I Really Want To Know’ and ‘Trilateral Machine’. The track arrives ahead of their upcoming EP Trilateral Machine, due later this month via Blitzcat Records. Featuring the hair-raising vocal runs from Bowie Bartlett and impactful percussive goodness from Harry Giles, the latest addition to the cult-rock catalogue is defining experimentation in an era of algorithms, pushing for a sound that is new and boundary-pushing.
Porcelain Plugs moves through a series of shifting arrangements, with instrumental layers entering and dropping away to guide the song’s progression. Vocals blend with complex instrumentation, letting the track’s textures and dynamics shape its direction and allowing the bands infectious chemistry to shine through.
