Brighton Electric brings it in-house with ‘Brighton Electric Presents’
Beyond the colourful buzzer-protexted door of the historic Brighton Electric Studio lies ‘Studio 45’, a dedicated venue space upon a raised platform which, until now, has been used primarily by external promotors and event curators.
Kim and Ella, familiar faces from the much loved rehearsal safehaven, have teamed up to curate line-ups that go against the grain – championing new artists across all genres and already jam-packing the venue for the first few shows under their new identity.
From CHUB, Pussyliquor and Not Richard and Her Majesty back in June, to Shobek in July (featuring the drumming of Jenny – a local legend behind Brighton Electric’s never-ending supply of vegan samosas, carrot cakes and brownies), the venue has already seen punk, ambience, doom, folk, experimental and metal take to the stage. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Alphabet, Daltons and Rosehill, Studio 45 aims to feature artists at the forefront of experimentalism, and the duo already have vivid plans for the direction of the space.
