Chimer x Rankd

Chimer return with the piercing punch-packed single 'CACTUS'
Chimer have resurfaced with their newest line-up, boasting their all-familiar sound of rhythmic chaos, disjointed beats and overdriven high-octane fury that has previously carried them on tours with King Nun, Kid Kapichi and Ain’t. Lifting the curtain on their freshest chapter, the post-punk outfit infuse their latest efforts with a new perspective – reflecting on navigating the sadness and madness of the modern world, while bringing us on an immersive journey with a captivating music video to match.
Personally, Chimer push towards sonic territory reminiscent of Folly Group, fused with the pioneering sounds of The Jesus and Mary Chain with heavier undertones bled throughout – one that sets them apart and pushes Chimer to untapped terrain in Sussex and beyond.
Whirring guitar intertwined with Harry’s softly-spoken vocals create a feeling of blissful discomfort, building heavily modulated instrumentation that emerges into a flailing burst of head-banging mayhem. With the chant of the chorus, Chimer are set to ‘dominate‘ and ‘reap the rewards‘ in the months to come.
Harry (vocals + bass), Owen (drums) and Keir (guitar) have their fair share of projects both archived and active, pulling together their rich backgrounds to propel Chimer back into the front seat. With Glasto ’24 in the back pocket, Chimer will be making a return to the live stage at London’s Sebright Arms on December 3rd – with plenty more to follow in ’26.
The arty experimentalism of Chimer is a welcome addition to our playlists, and the anticipation of their next release has already begun to germinate. Keep in the loop on their socials HERE.
